Behind the teacher
Steph (I never introduce myself as this but as people get to know me better they naturally abbreviate. I honestly don't have a strong preference either way but sometimes I'll end emails with Steph because Stephanie is so long.)
If you were given $200 that you had to spend on yourself, what would you buy?
Definitely more shoes and teacher clothes! The facebook ads always tempt me with new teacher shoes and I have had my eye on a few.
Think about yourself at the age you are currently teaching. How would you describe yourself at that age?
I've always been very quiet, shy and almost always a goodie two shoes except for when there was no structure in a classroom. Academically I was pretty middle of the road. We separated into GATE and non-GATE math from grades 3-6 and 5th grade was the first and only year I was put into GATE math in elementary school.
Name 3 articles of clothing/accessories you wear the most:
On a typical school day, I always have my Apple Watch, a sweater and a necklace my husband gave me on our wedding day.
Favorite beauty product:
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Lolita
Favorite grading pens
Cliche answer but FLAIRS!
3 snacks you couldn’t live without
Hot Cheeto Puffs, Haribo StarMix, Movie Theater Popcorn (all the extra butter and salt please)
If you could plan the perfect birthday meal for yourself, what would it be?
I've recently become obsessed with oysters so I'd start with that. In college I realized that I LOVE noodles so I would probably get some sort of udon or ramen dish and end the dinner with ice cream!
When you go to Starbucks, you order
I always get a drip coffee with two pumps of hazelnut and soy milk because it saves my wallet. However my favorite is a Chestnut Praline Latte.

Honestly I have no idea... I fell into teaching after graduating because I didn't know what I wanted to do and now I don't know what'd I'd do if I weren't teaching.
Favorite self-care routine or ritual
Lounging in bed and doing my nails while watching Netflix. I love watching everything!
Favorite Gift to give a fellow teacher
Pens or Starbucks Gift Card
What is your favorite part of your classroom?
My Take 5 corner. This is where my students take five minutes to relax when they need a break during class. I worked hard to create this space through a LOT of Craiglist browsing during the summer.
Do you remember your dreams when you wake up in the morning?
Sometimes but only if I wake up in the middle of my dream.
Your own parents would say you are…
Quiet, kind, patient, caring
People would be surprised to know…
1.) I'm a Yelp Elite. I love exploring new restaurants but am terrible at making decisions when it comes to which restaurant to eat at.
2.) I got ready for my wedding in my classroom! I couldn't find a space and asked my principal at the last minute and it was SO SPECIAL!
