Community Manager -- Academic Tutoring

As Community Manager: Academic Tutoring at Lessonface, you will help us launch a new part of our business focused on academic tutoring! This is a new position, with considerable opportunity for growth as our company continues to grow.

In addition to helping to conceptualize and execute high-level strategy for our academic tutoring business, you will be assisting with customer service, creating site content, and helping us to develop and improve processes. Recruiting and promoting great academic tutors will be a key part of the position.

You should be a curious person with a thirst for life-long learning who believes in the importance of education and mentorship. You should also be driven and detail-oriented. Enthusiasm for social media, an eye and ability for graphic design, and tech-savvy are big pluses.

Based in the West Village of NYC, Lessonface connects students with great teachers for 1:1 online sessions. Lessonface is easy-to-use, fair with our tutor and student policies, and growing quickly. Since 2013, we have been focused on connecting students with great music teachers. We are soon to launch academic and language tutoring offerings, for which we are seeking community managers.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Good with people, whether in person, on video conference, over the phone, via chat, or on social media

  • Demonstrable academic excellence

  • Patient, detail-oriented, creative, curious

  • Proven ability with basic computer technology

  • Entrepreneurial mindset

  • Experienced with academic tutoring

Bonus:

Basic or greater ability with Photoshop, Illustrator and/or Final Cut Pro
